Hotel Check In – The Peninsula Bangkok

We checked in to The Peninsula Bangkok around 11:30pm.  Due to the time checking in (late in the evening) we didn’t have to wait.  Check in was smooth and quick.  When checking in to hotels in Thailand you are required to show your passport and departure card (filled out on plane).

Our room is a Grand Deluxe Suite that includes an office area, separate living and dining room, large separate private bedroom and two bathrooms (full and half/powder room).  We are on the 16th floor and have a total of 6 picture windows over looking the Chao Phraya river.  The views are amazing!

  • WOW! Amazing room! And what a view! Great pics. (New camera getting the job done.) Time for R & R! What is the orchid floating in the water for? (Decoration? Finger bowl? … Dessert? )

    • Hmmm, that’s a good question. I think in this case it would be as decoration. Think of it as a flesh cut orchid flower in a vase of water. Also when checking into the nicer hotels it is customary for them to give you a warm wet towel to wash your hands/face (feels great after long flight), and a fresh Jasmin flower garland (Thai call it “Phuang Malai” for Jasmin Garland). The aroma of fresh Jasmin flowers is awesome in your hotel room!
