Activity – The Great Wall of Mutianyu

Visiting The Great Wall of China has always been a lifelong dream for the two of us! It was a surreal experience and something we will never forget. It was definitely the highlight of our first trip to China!

The Great Wall of Mutianyu (Chinese: 慕田峪; pinyin: Mùtiányù) is a section of the Great Wall of China located in Huairou District within the city limits of Beijing 70 kilometres (43 mi) northeast of the center of the city. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is connected with Jiankou in the west and Lianhuachi in the east. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.

I got lucky on the last photo – its an aerial shot of the Great Wall as we were flying from Harbin to Zhengzhou.
